  • Double Major: A double major is a program of study in which a student earns one degree (one diploma) with two areas of specialization. It typically requires completion of at least 128 semester hours, all general education requirements, and all requirements for both majors. Students usually have until at least the beginning of their junior year to declare a double major. Double majors often involve the study of two related fields of study whose majors are housed in the same school.
  • Double Degree: A double degree results in two separate degrees (two diplomas) in distinct fields. It requires completion of at least 160 semester hours as well as all general education requirements and all requirements for both majors. A dual degree program lets you earn two credentials in distinct fields. Coursework for a dual degree typically covers two unique fields that are based in two different schools.
